In Tandem Theatre

Since 2007, In Tandem Theatre has called the lower level of the “big red church” its home! Founded in 1998 by Chris and Jane Flieller, In Tandem produced over 40 shows in 11 different theatres before settling into its recently remodeled Tenth Street Theatre, a cozy 99-seat studio theatre complete with large lobby, administration and box offices.

In Tandem’s mission is to present innovative, exciting live theatre designed to inspire, enlighten, provoke, and entertain a diverse audience through a variety of genres: comedy, drama, musicals, classics, and original works. Sometimes irreverent, sometimes poignant but always top-quality, In Tandem strives to bring the art of storytelling to life show after show. Critically acclaimed work has attracted a strong and loyal following and In Tandem Theatre has firmly rooted itself within the theatre community in Milwaukee. In Tandem is a proud member of Theatre Wisconsin: The Alliance of Professional Theatres in Wisconsin and an Affiliate Member of the United Performing Arts Fund.

In Tandem's 2010-2011 season promises to be an exciting one! In addition to its regular four-show season, In Tandem will share their space with sister company, Next Act Theatre, who is currently building their own new performance space. The Tenth Street Art Gallery will host seven different visual arts exhibits throughout the season, as well as a series of artist/student workshops. The Tenth Street Theatre is also available for rent to other performing groups, private parties, business meetings, and events.

Chris Flieller, Artistic Director, received his BFA from Texas Christian University and his MFA from UWM’s Professional Theatre Training Program (now located in Delaware). Though a classically trained actor, Chris has worn many hats in the industry including lighting and set design, Master Electrician with the Skylight Opera, and Technical Director for Theatre X. He has been an actor with the Skylight, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Theatre X, the Marcus Center, the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, and First Stage Children’s Theatre. Chris performed with Bim & Company, a 50’s and 60’s vocal quartet for many years and appeared in several television commercials and feature films. His voice can be heard on numerous voice over commercials and projects.

Jane Flieller, Managing Director, earned her BFA from Wayne State University in Detroit. A former stage manager, Jane combined her skills in theatre production with several years in the private sector and now unleashes her background and creative energies on all aspects of running a small nonprofit arts organization - from grant writing to marketing, directing to box office.
